iPad Storybook
Heres a peek at a few pages I finished for an iPad interactive storybook currently in production. I'm working with writer Matt Carpenter and I'm handling all artwork. We teamed up with a studio in India to help assemble all the materials and technical side to finalize it into an app for the iPad. Its a first for me, so plenty to learn Im sure, but I am really enjoying the process so far.

9/11 Memorial
This is a collaboration piece I did with my friend Jim Budman. He owns a gallery workspace studio in Venice that I paint in from time to time. He originally had taken a photo of the twin towers a year to the day before the tragic event from the balcony of his studio in New York. He asked artists to do whatever they pleased with the photograph. The piece covers a little of the story of whats happened since and the moment itself. The matador bull represents the bull market, with bricks collapsing inside of it representing the housing market. The Bear, Bear market taking over, and the Dove in the wine glass is in honor of the people who passed along with the vertical array of striped color representing the variety of ethnicity.

FOX - Allen Gregory
I did these pieces during development for Fox's "Allen Gregory". The rough expressions are what the characters ended up looking like in the final form. On the Allen Gregory page and the Principal Gottlieb and Jeremy page, the designs to the left are designs I liked that didn't make the cut. Richard stayed the same mostly. On the previous post below showing Allen Gregory publicity art is what the final design of the characters eventually looked like.

Thunderstruck!!
These are some characters I designed for my first pilot which I Art directed and created along with my writing partners Ryan Lehr, Chris Jones and Mike Wallen. This was a dream come true. We had a lot of fun putting this together and knowing that we had free range to do whatever we wanted was very satisfying. I was really proud of the final outcome and we learned so much from the invaluable experience.
TBS - Neighbors from Hell
Neighbors from Hell was such a great experience for me. I learned so much and was ever so grateful to work with such talented Dreamworks designers, Sylvain Deboissy and Tony Siruno. Sylvain and Tony started the look of the characters and created the main character lineup. Above are some roughs that I did that either made it into the show or were designs I liked but didn't make the cut. The top one is Necromuncula, Satan's pet. Satan was designed by Tony Siruno, but I got the chance to come up with his pet which I thought was such a fun creature to design. The colored character on the third page down I did based on our Art Director, Alan Bodner.
Visual Development
The first painting above is an inspiration painting for a sci-fi project I developed with a friend of mine, Matt Carpenter. I was imagining Wall Street underwater and people floating aimlessly above the cars. The other two came to me after an exciting trip through the Amazon river. The jungle was so alive you could feel its pulse. The painting on the bottom is one of my favorites, it stands at about 5 x 6 feet.

Paintings
These are some paintings I did for my walls at home. Some are acryllic and others are colored pencils or a mixture of pastel and colored pencil.

59th Primetime Emmy Awards 2007
I won an Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation award as a character designer for Starz/Film Roman's "Eloise. I was shocked when I got the call, and thought it was a hoax, but sure enough it was no joke. I took my mother to the ceremony since she was the one to really encourage me to keep with it as a kid. Everything came full circle that night and had a great time with new acquaintances.
Ex-Boss
An evangelist priest was the original intention for a pilot we made. Didn't work for the final design, but I intend to use him somewhere eventually.

Roller Derby Girls
I originally designed these characters on paper, and then vectorized them in Adobe Illustrator. I love Urban Vinyl dolls and looked into making a set to bring to stores, but I soon learned the costs involved were a bit too fat for my wallet.
