RICK AND MORTY - Season 8 Skateboard Art

At last the season 8 crew skateboard deck! It's based on a fun sequence from Ricker Than Fiction that I art directed. I pitched multiple images that would have required a lot more elbow grease but we landed on this one that appeared more graphic and used art directly from the episode. This was born from the director Doug Olsen's boards, character design by Brad Lewis, and color by Corey Boothe. I tweaked a few things and helped assemble it but really this one is from the crew, to the crew. Thanks to Welcome Skateboards for another beauty!

RICK AND MORTY - Season 7 Skateboard Art

Ho ho ho, tis' the season 7 skateboard deck made exclusively for the RaM crew thanks to Welcome skateboards. It's a proud day when you see everyone receiving their deck at the holiday party and see their faces light up. The art is a riff on the Rick Prime episode, where Rick finally finds and kills his nemesis to wrap up seven seasons worth of story canon. This was an epic episode that was only accomplished by a village of folks dedicated to their craft, respect. Thank you to Welcome skateboards for doing another killer job once again top to bottom!  

RICK AND MORTY - Season 6 Skateboard art

It's that time of year again! The new season 6 Rick and Morty crew skateboards are here and were handed out to the crew at our holiday party last night. I love watching the reactions of the crew as they receive this gift, truly rewarding. It's tough sneaking in the time to do this while hitting deadlines for the episodes but well worth it. This setup is from the Night family episode. I tried to capture the 70's grindhouse effect and 80's horror poster nostalgia as the proxy drones attack the family car, and the spooky Somnabulator wheel looms above over the house. Welcome skateboards did an awesome job once again, thanks guys, and hope the crew enjoys them!     

 

RICK AND MORTY - Season 5 Skateboard Art

The Rick and Morty season 5 skateboard wrap gift finally revealed! This is the 3rd skateboard I've had the privilege to assemble for the crew gift. During the production of the finale for season 5 I spent about 6 weeks after hours laying this out and doing the final execution. Welcome Skateboards did a great job with a high quality finish to the boards. Hope everyone likes them after all their hard work to finish an exceptionally difficult season to produce. Thank you!
